The Nova Project – Built on Sustainable and Solid Foundations
Nova Victoria, SW1 recently featured in the Times supplement is fast becoming one of London’s leading developments. The Nova Master Plan project, designed by PLP Architecture, contains a sustainable balance of uses, including offices, retail, apartments – both private and affordable, and a community space / library, along with extensive new public realm. The development is generously-scaled with pedestrian routes and public spaces extending across the site. A north-south thoroughfare with retail pavilions, cafés, restaurants, public art, trees and seating will become a major public space capable of hosting special events.
Lignacite Ltd won the award to supply their highly sustainable ‘Lignacite’ 140 block which contains graded wood particles (GWP) and their Lignacrete paint grade block. The Lignacite block was chosen for its green credentials and ease of use. A total of 29,000m2 will be supplied over the build period will lock up in excess of 4994 tonnes of CO2.
Chairman, Giles de Lotbiniere said, “We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project and to know that we are doing our bit to contribute towards the sustainability of this entire site”.
