Charity of the Year

Learn more about our partnership with EACH and discover how you can help us make a meaningful difference in 2026.

Together with EACH, we can bring care and comfort to children and families across East Anglia.

We’re proud to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) as our Charity of the Year for a second consecutive year. After seeing first-hand the impact of our fundraising and the dedication of the EACH team, continuing the partnership was an easy decision.

As a family-run business with long-standing roots in Suffolk and Essex, supporting local communities matters deeply to us. EACH provides specialist care and assistance to children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions, as well as vital help for parents, siblings and families. By working together, we can ensure that care, comfort and compassion remain available to those who need it most.

Our goal for 2026 is to raise £10,000

With your support, we aim to reach this through a packed programme of staff-led fundraising activities, from endurance challenges and team events to auctions, raffles and community initiatives.

At Lignacite, we believe in building more than blocks. Through our Charity of the Year partnership, we’re building brighter futures for local families.

Ben's Story

Ben Harwood, 18, has Lowe syndrome, which causes problems with his eyes, kidneys and brain. For 13 years, EACH played an important role in his life, including through short breaks at The Nook, before transitioning to adult hospice care after his 18th birthday.

His mother, Bec, reflects on how meaningful this has been, saying, “It’s been an invaluable source of support for our family, and, along the way, we’ve met so many truly lovely people.”

As a special celebration before moving on to adult hospice care, he helped to open a new EACH shop in Norwich by cutting the ribbon, commemorating both his milestone birthday and the ongoing impact of the charity’s work.

Fundraising Highlights

Throughout the year, our team members are taking part in a range of fundraising activities to raise money and awareness for EACH. Here's what we’ve got lined up:

Reach for the Peaks

In 2026, Nick has set himself the ‘Reach for the Peaks Challenge’. Over the course of the year, the challenge will see him tackle some of the UK’s most demanding endurance events, alongside an international summit climb, covering a total distance of 365 kilometres. From scaling the highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland to ultra-distance coastal routes and a multi-day ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, each challenge is designed to push physical and mental limits while raising vital funds and awareness for EACH.

The Three Peaks Challenge

This summer, our team will once again take on the Pier 2 Pier Suffolk challenge to raise funds and awareness for EACH.

Walking 16 miles from Lowestoft Pier to Southwold Pier, the route takes our Ligna-trekkers along the coast before heading inland through fields and country lanes. Covering a variety of terrain – including sand, footpaths, fields and roads – this is a physically demanding challenge.

As we get ready to lace up our boots, we’d really appreciate your support. If you’re able to sponsor our efforts, you’ll help make every step count.

Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot

Our annual clay pigeon shoot brings customers and partners together for a day of sporting fun and friendly competition, while raising funds for our chosen charity. This year, we’re proud to support EACH through our three-year partnership with this fantastic organisation.
