LIGNACITE ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF THEIR BIM OBJECT LIBRARY
Posted by Nick Franks
Lignacite is pleased to announce that a full product offering is now available within the NBS BIM Object library. This covers their extensive range of architectural facing masonry (AFM), commodity blocks and the Roman Brick.
Available free from the National Building Specification (NBS) National BIM Library, the new data-rich BIM Objects allow specifiers to easily incorporate Lignacite products into a BIM model and associated component database. Authored to the trusted NBS standard and integrated with NBS specification software, each BIM Object details the various finishes, profiles, sizes and wide variety of striking colours of each product available to specifiers.
Each of Lignacite’s blocks contains a BIM link to the relevant section, where images and data for each product can be downloaded.
There are many definitions of Building Information Modelling (BIM), but it is simply the means by which everyone can understand a building through the use of a digital model.
BIM brings together all of the information about every component of a building, in one place. It makes it possible for anyone to access that information for any purpose, e.g. to integrate different aspects of the design more effectively. In this way, the risk of mistakes or discrepancies is reduced, and abortive costs minimised.
