Description

Original – Facing Masonry

Original Facing Masonry blocks are designed for internal or external situations combining inherent decorative appeal with strength and durability.

Original blocks are made to order and manufactured from cement, sand, pigments and a portfolio of natural dense aggregates. There is a choice of 4 finishes and 14 colours. The standard face size is 440 x 215mm and the 100mm width in solid form is the most popular. However there are a number of other options available relating to width and form (cellular, hollow etc). Refer to Product data sheet.

Available in all our standard sizes and forms and in a choice of 14 colours. Blocks from the Original range are finished on ONE FACE only. Other parts can also be finished such as one or both ends, or soffits etc.

Original is available in the following finishes:

Weathered –  Produced by shot-blasting the blocks and thereby exposing the aggregates beneath the surface.

Split –  Created by splitting each block individually, creating a craggy stone-like texture. Available in 100mm and 140mm widths (solid form only). The nature of the splitting process limits the range of shapes available to those that can be formed by cutting and/ or cutting and bonding. Such units include cut to length blocks, blocks with a finished end (weathered or split), and quoins.

Polished –  Produced by polishing the blocks to a high gloss finish, exposing the aggregates to enhance the colours. The polishing process reduces nominal dimensions by approximately 3mm per polished surface ie. face, end, soffit etc.

Planished –  The latest and most distinctive finish to be added to our range which gives the blocks a subtle ‘washed by the waves’ texture. This is created by raising the stone aggregate particles so they sit fractionally proud of the background matrix. The planishing process reduces nominal dimensions by approximately 3mm per planished surface ie. face, end, soffit etc.
